About the Tri County RC Club of New Jersey

Established 1968 AMA Charter #434

(please contact Bruce Grankowski at bgrankowski@optonline.net or 732-586-9779.)

This club’s primary activity is anything to do with Radio Control model airplanes. Anything from a Giant Scale model to a store bought RC toy can be seen at times.

We meet monthly at the Monroe First Aid Squad 47 Monmouth Rd, Monroe Township, NJ on the last Thursday of the month 7:00 PM – anyone is welcome to attend and membership is open to all interested parties.(Summer meetings are sometimes held at Pulda Farms. in that case it is posted on the Home Page.)

We require membership in Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) since it provides needed insurance for our program.

Dues are $75/year for adults and $25/year for juniors.

Today members are known to be interested in all phases of the model airplane hobby. Some build kits, others avail themselves of all-ready-to-fly (ARF) and yet others ‘play’ with ready-to-fly (RTF) models.

Our interests range from complicated warbirds with scale detail to electric park flyers and everything in between including RC helicopters and multirotors as well.

We are known to be beginner friendly meaning that we have a group of members that will help individuals to learn to fly and there are people in this club who would be more than pleased to help you enjoy this hobby.

We have two members designated as AMA Intro Pilots who can give you an introductory flight to see if you like it and we often have available a club sponsored trainer airplane used by members as needed in the training process.

There are several annual events including group flying, model building contests, picnics and annual holiday dinner which is the social event of the year.

Flying takes place either at North Brunswick Aerodrome at Pulda Farms or Thomas Edison Park (behind Middlesex Community College, Edison). – watch the web site home page for latest activities and come out and see what is going on.

Our club today consists of approximately 100 members. The membership is open and ages range from youngsters with their parents in tow to elder statesmen who are highly experienced. Many of the members have been associated with this club for many years; however, there are always newcomers and a constant inflow of new members.

If interested in membership or have questions please contact Bruce Grankowski at bgrankowski@optonline.net or 732-586-9779.
